Catholic schools are known for their academic rigor, and at MHT we align our curriculum with the National Standards for Effective Catholic Elementary Schools, as well as the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.
Furthermore, we strive to educate the whole child by including music, art, choir, physical education, technology, sports, and a wide range of electives, and of course religion permeates our entire curriculum.
As a member of the Saint Katharine Drexel Initiative in the Diocese of San Jose, our teachers and students use blended learning as a foundation for daily instruction. This model of learning blends traditional teaching strategies, small group instruction, project based learning, differentiated instruction, with technology-enhanced learning. Our adaptive technologies and assessments allow us to meet the identified needs of our diverse learners. Especially in the Silicon Valley and in a time of increasing technological momentum, it is crucial that our students are ready for the 21st century.
It is our belief that parents are the primary educators of their children. Therefore, we encourage as much parental involvement and support in our school as possible, which creates a rich community of parents, students, and staff.
We take pride in celebrating our vibrant culturally diverse community. Throughout the year, we acknowledge and rejoice in the various gifts and traditions that our families bring to our school.
